Master and PhD student positions are available in the laboratory of Computational Biology and Biophysics of Queen's University School of Medicine. Laboratory studies the epigenetics of cancer to identify factors contributing to disease mutation occurrence in DNA, and to discover molecular mechanisms of how these mutations can affect proteins, protein interactions, and dynamics of chromatin. 

The prospective master and graduate students will perform data analysis and design of computational methods that involve machine learning and/or molecular modeling. Laboratory works in close collaborations with several experimental groups in Canada and USA and candidates are expected to work in a collaborative environment.


  • Proficiency in English;
  • proficiency in using linux command line;
  • familiarity with programming in R or python;
  • solid knowledge of statistical methods, preferably experience with machine learning and large data analysis.


The master position will be financed for two years. PhD positions will be financed for upto 6 years. Relocation expenses will be covered.
