InSilico Medicine (https://insilico.com/) is looking for a Project Manager for our synthetic AI module. As a Project Manager, you will collaborate with the clients, collaborators, and internal stakeholders to improve the module. Your goal will be to guide AI research, gather insights from synthetic chemists, and deliver a state-of-the-art production-ready synthesis prediction module. The team currently has both AI researchers and experts in organic synthesis.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop the project
• Own the project roadmap
• Establish delivery-oriented workflow
• Brainstorm ideas, resolve issues
• Guide AI/ML research for synthesis prediction models
• Communicate with the clients, collaborators, and internal stakeholders
• Evaluate the project's performance
• Motivate the team

Requirements

AI/ML:
○ Strong mathematical background
○ Publications in AI/ML
○ Management experience as a Team Leader or a Project Manager
○ Experience with guiding AI/ML research, preferably in the field of drug discovery or synthesis prediction model

Synthetic chemistry:
○ Good knowledge of organic synthesis theory i.e. common reactions and their mechanisms, synthetic methods and strategy of synthesis
○ Practical experience with organic synthesis would be beneficial
○ Key advanced topics:
◾ Selectivity: chemoselectivity and regioselectivity (good knowledge of stereoselectivity would be advantageous)
◾ Protecting groups
◾ Common and robust reactions in medicinal chemistry and drug design
◾ Synthon approach for solving retrosynthesis problem

Other:
○ Ph.D. in AI or organic chemistry; or equivalent experience
○ Fluent English
