This role is open in the R&D team and is focused on research projects on cancer of unknown primary (CUP). We are looking for a skilled bioinformatician, who has a strong SC background and is skilled in Python and ML.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and develop an algorithm for predicting the cell-of-origin of a tumor. Bringing the algorithm to product implementation;
• Participate in scientific projects to study CUP samples in collaboration with American top cancer centers;
• Analyze NGS data (WES, WGS, RNAseq, scRNAseq);
• Analyze CUP biology;
• Analyze scientific literature and expand the BostonGene knowledge base on oncogenesis/tumor’s molecular and cellular characteristics.

• Previous experience with NGS data analysis, understanding of the lab part of NGS;
• machine learning (models, for example, lgbm; feature selection, model comparison, model storage)
• Knowledge of fundamentals of immunology/cell biology;
• previous experience in cancer bioinformatics is preferred;
• experience with scientific literature and scientific databases;
• fluency in English sufficient for fluent reading and understanding of scientific articles, fluent in Russian;
• background in experimental work in biochemistry /molecular biology is a plus;
• experience with Python/pandas, R, and Linux.
