About us: Cell Biology and Cardiovascular Research

The Heart Research Center at Goettingen University (HRCG) is an internationally renowned institution with an interdisciplinary scientific environment and state of the art facilities. The HRCG partners with the Max-Planck-Institutes for Experimental Medicine, for Biophysical Chemistry, and for Dynamics and Self-Organization, as well as the German Center for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK).

 

Our Research Group at the HRCG studies the cell biology of cardiovascular diseases, utilizing patient-specific, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and site-specific CRISPR/Cas-based genome editing, as well as biochemical, biophysical, and systems biology approaches. Your Qualifications

• An excellent M.S. or Diploma degree in Biophysics, Physics, Chemistry, Computational Modeling or, provided sufficient background in the indicated subjects, in Biochemistry or Cell Biology
• Practical experience with programming languages such as python, matlab is preferred; experience with standard techniques in molecular cell biology and biochemistry is helpful
• Fluent command of the English language and commitment to good scientific practice
• Team spirit, excellent communication talent, as well as intercultural and intra-personal competencies
• A strong interest and willingness to integrate in basic science and translational research
