Molecular biology: Nucleic acid, protein, lipid, and metabolites isolation/purification and gel analysis. Dissection of various mouse organs and parts of mouse brains for RNA extraction, and following mRNA/small RNA library preparation. qRT-PCR, western blot, protein immunoprecipitation, Primer extension assay. Restriction Enzyme cloning, Megaprimer RF cloning, Gibson Assembly, TA cloning, Golden Gate cloning, Site-directed mutagenesis. Preparation of competent E.Coli cells.
Cell culture: Primary neuronal and glial cell culture. Cell lineage: use and maintenance. Transfection and transduction of mammalian cell lineages. Cell cycle analysis. Generation of stable expression mammalian cell lines. CRISPR-Cas9 gene inactivation and generation of modified cell lines.
Microscopy: Confocal and 3D light-sheet fluorescence microscopy. Immunohistochemical staining of optically cleared tissue. Transcardial perfusion. Sample sectioning. Immunohistochemistry of human and mouse brain slices from fresh specimens or frozen tissue. In situ hybridization of the snail nervous system.
Cellular biology: Single cell gel electrophoresis, metaphase and anaphase-telophase analysis of chromosomal aberrations, modified Ames test, γ-H2AX assay.
Animal manipulation: Handling, feeding, intraperitoneal injection, killing by cervical dislocation.
Scripting experience with R, Python (Pandas), and Bash. Transcriptome/Lipidome analysis. De novo transcriptome assembly.
